Baking Resources publishes free calculators and plain-English guides for people who need a real number, not a vague answer. No accounts, no paywalls, no app to install.

What is here

16 calculators and 206 in-depth guides. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, works offline once loaded, and never sends what you type anywhere. The guides are written to answer the question in the first paragraph, then explain the reasoning for anyone who wants it.

How we decide what to publish

• We show the working. A calculator that only prints an answer is asking to be trusted blindly. Ours print the formula with your own numbers substituted in, so you can check it.
• Ranges where a range is honest. Where sources genuinely disagree, or a figure depends on brand, climate or technique, we give the range and say what moves it. A single confident number would be easier to read and less true.
• Waste and overage are their own line. Materials calculators never fold an allowance into the base figure, because you cannot check a number you cannot see.
• We say when something is an estimate. If a figure is a planning number rather than a measured fact, the page says so in the place you would read it.
• Safety and code come before convenience. Where a job needs a licensed professional, a permit, or a check against local code, we say that plainly instead of burying it.

What we do not do

We do not invent statistics, quote prices we have not seen, or pad an article to hit a word count. We do not ask for your email to unlock an answer. We do not require an account to use a tool.

Corrections

If a number here is wrong, we want to know, and we would rather hear it bluntly than not at all. Send it to our contact page with the page and the figure you disagree with, and we will check it and correct it. Corrected pages carry an updated date.
